How to Clean Your EVPs Using a Computer

This help sheet is set up for using sound editing software and most sound editing software will follow the same steps closely. Please always save a copy of the original sound file before you start working on any changes. These settings and adjustments are from experimentation, consultation with sound engineers and other paranormal investigators. I cannot claim that this will always be the process, but based on mine and others' experience will do the most for evps.

The basic concept of an Elemental refers to the ancient idea of the Elements as the fundamental building blocks of nature. In Alchemy an Elemental is a Creature (usually a Spirit) that is attuned with, or composed of one of the classical Elements. The following four concepts or Soul Scapes of Elemental origin represent the Alchemical nature of the four elements within the Personality of the practitioner of High Magick.

The art below reflects these different elements, and really captures the essence of the four spiritual entities that made up the world around us, from an Alchemical viewpoint. Even now, the artwork in many locations, from
mobile broadband to modern art in galleries around the world, the colours are comprised of those that represent Fire, Earth, Air and Water, the foundation of all life and nature and the basis from which many representations of the world arise. Fire and Earth have become our industry, our passion for entertainment, for love, and Air and Water our serenity, our depth.

1. Amplify the clip: Select Amplitude> Amplify> Presets Window> 10db Boost> OK

2. Eliminate High End Hiss: Select Effects> Filters> Scientific Filters> Presets Window> Hiss Cut (Above 10 kHz)> OK

3. Amplify again, if needed (follow step 1)

4. Enhance the quality of the clip: Select Effects> Noise Reduction> Hiss Reduction> Presets Window> Light Hiss Reduction> Get Noise Floor> OK

5. Amplify again, if needed (follow step 1)

6. Re-enhance the quality of the clip again: Select Effects> Noise Reduction> Noise Reduction> Get Profile From Selection> Move Noise Reduction Level slider to 15> OK (using this last option may make the clip sound robotic, therefore, if you don’t like the way it sounds, just select the Undo option).

Noted ABOVE are the basics that we use, without fail, to clean-up our EVPs.
